Meet the Founders
The Sahasrāra story was born from the shared vision of Ashley, a dedicated hairstylist and holistic beauty advocate, and Sai, an IT Consultant with a strong entrepreneurial passion and innovation.
Together, this husband-and-wife team set out to create a brand that offers more than just haircare—it’s a holistic journey toward self-care and well-being, deeply rooted in Ayurveda.
Ashley
As a licensed hairstylist, I’ve dedicated my career to helping clients achieve healthier, more beautiful hair. Early on, I began experimenting with holistic methods for my own hair. I was amazed at the immediate improvements in its health and texture. That simple change sparked a passion for sharing effective, accessible solutions with my clients—a passion that has guided me throughout my career.
When I married my husband, I was introduced to the beauty and richness of Indian culture. Through my mother-in-law, I learned the art of Indian cooking and natural Ayurvedic remedies. During my visits to India, I gained a deep appreciation for traditions centered on balance, mindfulness, and connection. These experiences completely reshaped how I approached self-care—not just as a routine, but as a holistic practice that nurtures both body and spirit, rooted in connection, intention, and balance.
Sai
Growing up, I was surrounded by the practices of an Ayurvedic lifestyle, from regular hair oiling to eating nourishing meals like kichidi—often at my parents’ insistence. As a child, these routines felt like chore. But as I grew older and moved to the USA, I began to appreciate the wisdom behind them. Embracing self-care and a healthier lifestyle naturally led me to reconnect with the cultural traditions. The same traditions I had distanced myself from for years, both literally and figuratively.
This journey back to my roots grew stronger when I met my wife, Ashley. Her love for Indian culture mirrored my rediscovery of it. Together, we’ve channeled our passion into creating the Sahasrāra story—a brand that blends the richness of Ayurvedic wisdom with modern haircare innovations, bridging the gap between tradition and contemporary needs.
